PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY EXECUTIVE & WIFE
WERE BOTH ARRESTED FRIDAY AT THEIR HOME
MRS. JOHNSON CAUGHT WITH $79,600 CASH IN BRA
Three Prince George’s County police officers were arrested this morning, Police Chief Roberto L. Hylton confirmed Monday.
Federal agents arrested the officers at the the Beltsville Metro Station, the Washington Post reported. Hylton said that the officers were picked up by federal agents at the station, but that the station was not being raided.
The arrests are said to be related to the Friday arrests of Prince George’s County Executive Jack B. Johnson and his wife, Leslie, a newly elected City Council member.
At the time of her arrest Friday, Mrs. Johnson had $79,600 cash hidden in her underwear.
Each officer was charged with evidence tampering and destroying evidence in a case the U.S. attorney called the “tip of the iceberg” in a broader corruption investigation in Prince George’s.
Two of the officers have been identified as Sgt. Rich Delabrer and Cpl. Chong Kim, sources familiar with the arrests told the Post. Ofcr. Sinisa Simic is the third person charged, the Post reported.
Federal agents are serving warrants at other locations in Beltsville and also at a liquor store, according to the sources.
The sergeant worked off-duty as a security officer at Tick Tock Liquors in Hyattsville, according to a source familiar with the arrests.
