  NEUMAN HITS SCHUH ON HELLS ANGELS VISIT TO RESTAURANT

In April the gang stopped at the Greene Turtle restaurant in Gambrills and left without causing any problems.

Relative to the visit, Neuman brushed aside criticism from Schuh — who is running against her for Anne Arundel County Executive — for allegedly “using the police department for political purposes” to criticize Greene Turtle, calling it “clearly a political statement intended to cover up bad public policy” at the restaurant.

Schuh is the owner of several restaurants managed by GT-Mid States LLC, a holding company for restaurants including Greene Turtle Sports and Grilles in Gambrills, Pasadena and Annapolis. He is the company’s financial adviser and is not involved in the day-to-day operations of the businesses.

  MD. JUDGE RULES AGAINST ONLINE BALLOTS FOR BLIND, DISABLED

Citing concerns about ballot security, a federal judge in Baltimore said Thursday he would not require elections officials to provide online absentee ballots for visually impaired and physically disabled voters in the June 24 primary election.

  GANSLER PROPOSES TAX CUT FOR MIDDLE CLASS

The Attorney General’s proposed cut would give families with income between $50,000 and $100,000 a year a $400 tax credit for each of the tax years between 2016 and 2018.

Two of the major one-way north-south streets in the city’s center are part of a $140,000 traffic study which includes corridors from Fayette Street north to University Parkway, approved Wednesday by the Baltimore Board of Estimates.

  CITY-OWNED HILTON HOTEL HAS BEST YEAR IN 2013

The Hilton Baltimore Convention Center Hotel lost $2.9 million last year, though not nearly as much as it lost in 2012. It was the best year in the taxpayer-financed project’s history.

  HAGERSTOWN WOMAN ACQUITTED OF CHILD SEX ABUSE

Despite her confession, a Washington County Circuit judge acquitted the woman, who had been charged with sexually abusing four children ranging in age from one to two years old over a period of six years, because, the judge ruled, a confession alone was not sufficient evidence to gain a conviction.

Ultra-conservative Randolph-Macon Economics Prof. David Brat unseated Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the Virginia congressional primary Tuesday in one of the most stunning primary election upsets in U.S. congressional history.

With just over $200,000 to Cantor’s $5.4 million, Tea Party-backed Brat soundly defeated the 7th District Richmond-area congressional leader, who had been considered the frontrunner to succeed House Speaker John A. Boehner at some point in the near future.

Coburn apologized Monday for his intemperate remarks.
